le Tour de France starts the first stage on 5th of July from Brest to Plumelec. For the first time since 1967, there will be no prologue to begin the battle.
Today, a good week before it all begins, I was trying to find a way to incorporate news and results from the tour into my daily blogging routines. However, I discoverd that the official le Tour de France site is a over-commercialized and somewhat daft site without any feeds or free content for the fans.
So the greatest bicycle race on the planet didn’t bother facilitating anything for those of us who would gladly spend some spare time promoting the darn thing through our blogs? Nothing. No embeded content available. I can blog about it, sure. But I’ll have to send you over to the official site to see maps, illustration, pictures and videos. And I don’t want to do that.
Now, how cool wouldn’t it be to have a le Tour de France Wordpress Widget together with embeded live and recorded video and perhaps everything embeded in a open Google Map. Instead we have to settle for this?
